Susann Kobus was born in Dresden (Germany) in 1985.
She began to play the piano at the age of seven. From 1992 she had piano lessons from the pianist Karin Franz-Prade in Dresden. Since the year 2000 she has been a student at the Carl-Maria-von-Weber-Highschool, the special School of Music in Dresden and has piano lessons with Professor Gunnar Nauck at the University of Music “Carl-Maria von Weber” in Dresden.

In 1999 Susann won first prize in the piano solo section of the German National Music Competition “Jugend musiziert”. She was a prize winner of the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau (Germany) in 2002. In 2003 Susann won second prize in the piano accompaniment section of the National Competition “Jugend musiziert” and participated successfully at the International Competition “Grotrian - Steinweg” in Braunschweig (Germany) in the same year. In 2004 she won first prize of the National Competition “Jugend musiziert” in the piano accompaniment section.

Susann regularly participates in Master Classes - in 2002 with Professor Galina Iwanzowa from the University of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin and in 2003 with Professor Amadeus Webersinke from the University of Music “Carl-Maria von Weber” in Dresden. Susann obtained further tuition from Professor Matthias Kirschnereit from the University of Music and Theatre in Rostock. In February 2004 Susann took part in a Master Class of Professor Arnulf von Arnim.

Further she is actively successful in chamber music. Since 1999 she has accompanied the soprano Cindy Henker and from 2000 has played in the Duo “Fiorente” with the flutist Berit Schmutzler. In 2004 the Duo won second prize of the National Competition “Jugend musiziert”.

The Duo “Fiorente” participated in Master Classes of Professor Irmela Boßler from the University of Music “Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy” in Leipzig and of Sabine Kittel, member of the “Sächsische Staatskapelle” Orchestra in Dresden.

She also plays in the piano trio “Sonoro”, which was founded in 2002 under the direction of Professor Helmuth Branny, a member of the “Sächsische Staatskapelle” Orchestra in Dresden. In May 2003 the piano trio participated in the International Competition for Chamber Music in Heerlen (Netherlands) and was very successful against other musicians seven years older than the trio. The piano trio won third prize of the National Competition “Jugend musiziert” in 2004. In February 2004 the piano trio participated in a Chamber Music Master Class of Sir Colin Davis, conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Susann gives concerts in Germany and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician, for example she played at the “Unterkirche” in the “Frauenkirche” and in the castle “Albrechtsberg” in Dresden, also in the castle “Wackerbarth” near Dresden, the “St. Martha-Kirche” in Nürnberg and in the “Villa Bertramka” in Prague.
